WEE Talks
Featuring voices from the field, WEE Talks, the podcast of the Donor Committee for Enterprise Development’s Women's Economic Empowerment Working Group, explores the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on women’s economic realities around the world. These episodes highlight the need and opportunity for gender-responsive policies and development programmes.
→ the challenge
The Covid-19 pandemic has had a profound impact on gender equality and women’s economic advancement around the world.
Women face unique and gendered barriers to economic empowerment globally, compounded by the intersections of oppression. It is essential that women entrepreneurs are able to tell their stories, in their own voices. Through firsthand accounts we can learn about the realities they face in getting their businesses off the ground, the challenges that hinder progress, and the wins worth celebrating.

→ the solution
Anti-Heroine Media was on board from the podcast’s inception—driving branding, scriptwriting, recording, and editing.
We started by developing an identity package for the podcast, which included the show’s title, tagline, description and logo. Our team created scripts for each of the podcast episodes, provided input on story direction and guests, and prepped participants for the production process. We directed each remote recording session to ensure the best audio quality possible, with guests logging on from around the world. Anti-Heroine Media edited the raw recordings for each podcast episode to balance audio levels, remove blips or errors, and add in recurring pieces and music. We also provided guidance on best practices for distribution and dissemination.
